Taste of Summer

We went to Blue Bell creameries for their annual Taste of Summer. It is a ice cream eating frenzy. For $4 (7 and up) you can eat all the ice cream you want!!! The kids and us adults stuffed our faces. We also went on a tour of the factory and got to see Rocky Road and Chocolate ice cream being made. It was rainy when we first got there but stopped raining and made for a perfect day because it wasn't blazing hot!

Our friends Parker and Beth came along. Beth is a photographer and took pictures of the family the whole day. It was like having our own personal photographer on site. She got some great shots of the kids. I can't wait to see them!

Return from Camp

We left at the crack o' dawn this morning to pick Dalton up from camp. We were so excited to see him and see how he managed without us all week!

He did GREAT! He had so much to tell us and loved his week at camp. He didn't miss us one bit. He is already talking about next year!

The best part was hearing him tell us that his favorite part of the week was scripture memorization and he recited back verses that he had learned. He got his Bible out of his suitcase on the way home and read all the verses they talked about and was so excited to be in the Word. It was amazing!

It is good to have him home, we missed him! Love you Dalt!

New Do

After eight months of growing my hair out I finally gave in. I really want my hair to be long, but I don't think I have it in me. My hair takes SO long to grow! In addition I just like short hair, I guess.

Fine China

I posted a while ago about how Avery and I were going to be Secret Keeper Girls or SKG. It is a fun activity to do with your daughters to teach them the truth about real beauty and modesty.

We had our first SKG date today. We talked about how we are masterpieces created by God. We went and had tea and a fancy little pastry shop. The lesson asked how we are living our lives. As styrofoam cups, that get thrown away, ceramic mugs, that are plain and ordinary, or like fine china, that are unique and masterpieces. It was amazing to spend that time with Avery and help her understand what a true masterpiece she is and to help her see the value in herself and that God's value of her never changes.

The best part for me was when we were done with our date, walking out to the car and she said to me "I liked doing that, it made me feel really special." I am looking forward to our next date.

Summer Camp

We dropped Dalton off at summer camp on Sunday. This is his first year of camp at New Life Ranch. He was so excited and was looking forward to all the exciting adventures summer camp brings. We are going to pick him up on Saturday and we can't wait to hear all the stories he has to tell. Matt and I have been fondly reminiscing about our summer camp days!
