We are in for some trouble!!!

Our church youth is doing some babysitting at the church on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the month of June to earn money for a mission trip. So I took the kids today so I could get some things done without the kids. When I picked the kids up we were driving home....

Mallory said to me "my teachers were mean". (Knowing the two teens and the adult that were in her class I knew this was probably not the case.)

So I said "They were, why?"

Mallory: "Because she said sit down, sit down, SIT DOWN!"

Me: "Well were you listening to your teachers?"

Mallory: "Yes, but they just kept saying sit down really mean and that hurts my feelings"

Me: "Well Mallory sometimes if you are not listening to your teachers they have to use a firm voice to let you know they want you to listen"

Mallory: "Well I don't like it and it makes me sad. And you are making me mad right now because you are not being responsible to my reaction!"

Me: SPEECHLESS!!!

I was trying not laugh because she was sassing me with some attitude but using such big words and trying to use them in the right context. If she can articulate her feelings this good now...I am scared and praying for the teen years. She keeps us on our toes, but is always good for laugh!

Last day of school...Yeah!

We sent Dalton and Avery off to their last day of school today. I can hardly believe we are going to have a 2nd and 3rd grader and a kindergartner in school next year!

Singing in the Rain

The kids got a new beach ball sprinkler today in the mail from Grandma and insisted on trying it out even though it was raining out. Rachel enjoyed it for about thirty seconds and started crying to come in the house and get wrapped up in a nigh-nigh, a.k.a. a blanket or towel. Jack was done after about two minutes of kicking it around the yard. Mallory she hung out and sang, danced and even fell in the mud. I actually had to tell her to come in when I heard thunder.

Seeing the kids out in the rain reminded me of begging my mom to go play out in the rain on warm summer days. We either got into our bathing suits or just went out in the clothes we were wearing. Funny how those small things we as adults try to escape...like getting caught in the rain are so enjoyable and fun as kids. Guess maybe next time I need to go out in the rain with them and run around.

Arriving

Well here I am. It feels kind of funny writing, almost like I'm talking to myself. I really like looking at other peoples blogs and keeping up with what is going on in their lives, so I finally decided to give it a try.

I really want to try and keep up with blogging because I feel like with family and friends so spread out across the country we don't talk enough and don't get to hear about everyday things that are happening in each others lives. The things that really matter. So I am going to try to be a dedicated blogger.

I guess that's all I have to say for now?
